Wisdom Teeth Removal in Windsor
Wisdom teeth are the final set of adult molars. Normally they’d emerge behind your second set of molars, sometime during the mid to late teens. Quite often, there isn’t enough room for the wisdom teeth, or they can become misaligned while they are growing. When this happens, they can damage your other teeth if they aren’t removed.
Procedure
Wisdom teeth are removed before they emerge from the gums. Because they are still beneath your gums, they’re removed by surgery. Incisions are made in the gums and the teeth are removed from your jaw. The procedure is performed under local anesthetic and we usually recommend sedation as it can be a long treatment.
After your surgery, we close the incisions with sutures, and you can go home. We’ll provide post-surgical care information to help you manage pain while your mouth is healing.
